China fluorspar acidspar prices flat despite slack buying

China’s fluorspar acidspar export prices remained stable over the week to Thursday December 17, although downstream buying activity remained slow without any significant improvement, sources told Fastmarkets.

China’s domestic fluorspar acidspar prices stayed in a range of 2,500-2,700 yuan ($382-428) per tonne on more firm market signs this week amid reduced supply while more producers in northern China halt production during winter.

Chinese fluorspar exports up 42% month-on-month in September

China’s exports of fluorspar increased month-on-month in September 2020 due to a recovery in buying activity among Asian buyers.

China exported 8,868 tonnes of fluorspar (CaF≤97%) in September 2020, up by 41.8% from the 6,252 tonnes shipped in August, and also up by 6.6% from 8,322 tonnes in September 2019, according to official Chinese customs data.
