Quartz sand production process
Quartz sand is a quartz particle produced by crushing quartz stone. Quartz rock, also known as silica, is a silicate mineral with hard texture, wear resistance and stable chemical properties.
Quartz sand (also called silica sand, scrubbing sand, washing sand or drying sand)
Silica content above 98.5% is called quartz stone, and silicon dioxide content below 98.5% is called silica.
Quartz block, also known as silica, is mainly used for the production of quartz sand (also known as silica sand), and is also a raw material for quartz refractories and firing ferrosilicon.
Quartz stone is called quartz sand after being broken. In the industry, quartz sand is often divided into: ordinary quartz sand, refined quartz sand, high-purity quartz sand, fused quartz sand and silica powder.
Quartz sand characteristics: the hardness of quartz is 7, the specific gravity is 2.65, and the color is milky white, light yellow, brown and gray. Quartz has high fire resistance, and its melting point is 1730 degrees Celsius.
Quartz sand uses: manufacturing glass, refractory materials, smelting ferrosilicon, metallurgical flux, ceramics, abrasive materials, casting, and using quartz's strong resistance to acid media in construction to prepare acid-resistant concrete and acid-resistant mortar.
Main producing area: From a nationwide perspective, quartz mines are relatively extensive. Quartz sand is made of natural quartz ore. After processing the quartz stone extracted from the mine, it is processed by crushing, screening, and washing. The appearance is multi-prismatic, spherical, pure white, and has the characteristics of high mechanical strength, strong dirt interception ability, and good acid resistance. Generally, products with a fineness of less than 120Mesh are called quartz sand. Products with more than 120Mesh are called quartz powder. High-quality mineral sources are mainly distributed in Jining, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Fengyang in Anhui Province, Huanggang in Hubei Province, Lingshou County in Hebei Province, with large yields and high quality, and a small amount in Guangdong and Jiangxi.
A colorless, transparent variant of quartz called "Krystallos" by the Greeks, which means "white ice". They believe that quartz is durable and strong ice. Ancient Chinese believed that cold crystals in the mouth could quench thirst.
The quartz sand production process includes the following aspects:
1. Ore beneficiation: sorting and sorting the ore
Two. Washing: Washing is subject to no obvious impurities by naked eye observation
3. Calcination: set the furnace temperature to 860 degrees Celsius, and the redness of the stone shall prevail when the material is discharged
4. Water quenching: quenching with cooling water to achieve a loose structure
5. Crushing: crushed by a jaw crusher, then crushed by a roller mill
6. Screening: sorting by mesh
Seven, cleaning: after many times of high-purity water
8. Draining: dehydration by centrifuge
Nine. Dryer: enter the oven to dry
10. Magnetic separation: enter the magnetic separator to remove iron impurities
Eleven, enter the flotation machine for another selection
12. After manual inspection, package and warehousing
